With the help of the Working Group, we would like to focus on a topic that affects all HAWs equally. In particular, the exchange of ideas, freshly established and long-standing incentive systems at the various institutions should bring long-term success factors. Not every institution has to set up new processes based on the principle and should learn and benefit from the experiences of others through this network.

Capacity Building on application preparation of EU projects

The EU team offers a series of workshops on the preparation of applications for EU projects as part of the BROADWAY project, in order to strengthen the motivation to participate in EU projects. The aim is to better prepare researchers for the application process.

Competition EU-Research of Trier University of Applied Sciences

The Trier University of Applied Sciences EU-Research Competition is an annual opportunity for researchers to obtain support for the development of an EU research project. Students can take part with their own project ideas and win a scholarship, which should make it possible to develop a doctoral project with an EU relevance.

EU fundraising seminars for students and researchers

In the EU Fundraising Seminar, participants learn how a good idea becomes a project and how researchers can submit a funding application to the EU Framework Program for Research and Innovation. The seminar includes day trips to Brussels, Strasbourg, Bonn and Luxembourg, which provide exciting insights into EU funding policy.

Establishment of the Research Management Center (RMC)

The Research Management Center offers comprehensive support to the university’s researchers in matters of external funding. Excellent Research Award within Dies Academicus at HSWT

The price on “Excellent Research” within the Ceremony of Dies Academicus was awarded for professors with high research activities and motivation based on their publishing activities, efficient, focused operation and didactic skills. Aim of the action as an incentive instrument was to support the increased research activity at the HSWT as well as to highly appreciate the engagement of the researchers.

HS³ Go Europe: Three universities in Saxony-Anhalt develop European research potentials

The core objective of the project work is to increase EU application submissions at the collaborative universities. To this end, the project staff provide comprehensive services at the university locations. The service is aimed at scientists, administrative staff and transfer representatives with thematic links in the area of international - in particular European - research programs.

Task force „EU-administration“

Regular administrative meeting concerned with all questions of administration of third party funding/ EU funding. Members comprise the research service team and employees from administrative teams (finances and human resources). The task forces works on solutions for general and specific issues that occur in the administration of EU projects and funding applications.

Timetable for reporting in Horizon 2020 projects

The timetable for reporting was created as a tool that ensures the timely and complete compilation of documents and creates structures that potentially enable continuous participation in EU projects.
